Formation

Formation Committee

Formation must be ongoing and consistent.

Service deepens when formation is strong, systematic and consistent.

Formation is the learning journey a Vincentian takes in embracing the tradition, charism, and spirituality of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul.

The Formation Committee’s purpose is to develop formation materials to help Vincentians in their formation to carry out the works of the Society by walking along side our  neighbours in need.

This includes creating formation materials that develop and support the works of conferences and councils; the orientation of new members; and ongoing formation for all members, conferences and Councils.  Updated delivery methods include ‘form the formator’ workshops to designated formators in each region to help roll out high-priority formation tools.

Our committee is comprised of representatives from each of the five Canadian regions who contribute to the design of formation materials, ensuring the needs and nuances for their regions are met, as well as a member of the National Board.
