Emmanuel Bailly Scholarship

Emmanuel Bailly was 40 years old when he met Frederic Ozanam, with whom he grew to be very close. He helped Ozanam and his friends to combine their studies with their religious formation, so they naturally came to him for advice regarding their plans to serve the poor. Having a great devotion to Saint Vincent de Paul, he linked the new Conference of Charity to the Vincentian spiritual family and agreed to become the first President of the Society. He remained a member of the Society almost until his death in 1861.
