Michael Wasney – A dedicated and active SSVP member

Michael has been a dedicated and active member of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul (SSVP) St. Patrick Conference, Markham Ontario since 2015. Serving as president from 2017 to the present—with a brief hiatus in 2023—Michael has provided strong and compassionate leadership that has significantly strengthened our conference.  

Under his guidance, both adult and youth membership have grown steadily, bringing renewed energy and sustainability to our mission. He has been instrumental in organizing community outreach initiatives, building partnerships, and mentoring new members.  

Michael’s unwavering commitment has been especially vital to the success of the North of 60 project, where his coordination efforts and logistical support helped deliver essential goods and services to remote northern communities. His leadership continues to inspire those around him and makes a lasting impact on both our local conference and the broader SSVP network.
