We all witnessed on August 4th the massive explosion in central Beirut. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all people affected by this disaster, and those who have lost loved ones.

Discussions are underway with the SSVP Lebanon National Council to assess the needs. An international appeal has been initiated to support SSVP Lebanon in their efforts towards housing repairs and food donations.

Donations for this international emergency can be made from the SSVP National Council of Canada donation portal, www.ssvp.ca via the donate button on the main web page or directly at https://www.imakeanonlinedonation.org/ssvp-national/DONATION/

Donor should specify “the International Emergency Program” to direct their donation. The funds raised will be redirected to Lebanon via CIAD (International Commission for Aid and Development), the commission of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul’s International General Council.
