Hurricane Matthew – Appeal for financial relief

Dear Vincentians,

As you all know, Hurricane Matthew hit the southwestern peninsula of Haiti on Thursday October 6 2016, taking close to 1000 lives and hundreds of people are reported missing or injured. Destruction of habitats and infrastructures is widespread in that region of the Island.

As a result of this terrible catastrophe, I am launching an appeal for donations to assist Vincentians of Haiti in their relief efforts. I am soliciting the generosity of each conference and council that can afford it to send their donation to the National Council of Canada, 2463, Innes Rd, Ottawa, Ontario, K1B 3K3.  Or if you prefer you can donate on our web site at: www.ssvp.ca/donation  and specify that the donation is for the International Relief Fund.

I would also ask Vincentians keep the people of Haiti, particularly our Brothers and Sisters Vincentian, in their prayers in this moment of great suffering.

PS: Cheques shall be made out to: SSVP National Council.  At the bottom left write down International Emergency Relief.

Thank you for your support

Jean Noël Cormier, President
National Council
