The Government of Canada has launched a call for applications for the Canada’s Volunteer Awards’ National Advisory Committee.

The National Advisory Committee will be made up of 15 members that show passion and commitment in the field of volunteerism. I am seeking candidates with experience working or volunteering in the not-for-profit, charity and business sectors. Indigenous Peoples, women, persons with disabilities, visible minorities and other vulnerable groups are encouraged to apply. The Canada’s Volunteer Awards’ National Advisory Committee proudly represents Canada’s cultural, linguistic and regional diversity.

Those selected to be National Advisory Committee members will have a mandate to:

·         assist the Minister of Families, Children and Social Development on all matters related to the selection of award recipients for 2019, 2020 and 2021
·         play a critical role in the selection of Canada’s Volunteer Awards by reviewing nominations and recommending the award recipients each year; and
·         support the promotion of the program throughout their term.

Following a review of applications, those selected will be notified in writing in the spring of 2019. Candidates will be asked to provide written consent of their commitment to serve for a term of three years.
