Twinning Newsletter – January 2020

Dear Vincentians,

I am writing to you at the beginning of this new year to give you an overview of the twinning activities in 2019 and to ask you to submit the 2019 annual report.

Promotional activities continued, particularly with the implication of regional coordinators. Articles on twinning were also published in some regional and central council newsletters. Support to small projects (3K – 10K) was encouraged to provide means for communities to take charge and improve their living conditions. Twinning projects continue to develop. Twins from Canada have increased contributions to their beneficiaries after a natural disaster affected their country.

We are assigned a number of Spanish speaking countries. The National Council can help with translation Spanish/English, English/Spanish for Spanish language countries. You can also use Google Translate:

One hundred and seventy-six (176) active twinning were recorded at the end of December 2019. There were 19 new twinning partnerships this past year.

Twinning Conferences and Councils must submit the 2019 twinning annual report to their twinning regional coordinator by February 29, 2020.

The revised Twinning Annual Report form is available on our website, under Members – Committee Resources – Twinning, or with this direct link: Form must be downloaded and saved on your computer before data is entered.

This newsletter is being sent to all conferences and councils in Canada in the active category that reported a twinning activity (transfer of funds) during the past year. As well, the newsletter is being sent to all Canadian twins that did not report any financial activity to the National Council in 2019. These donor twinning partners are asked to confirm if their twinning is still active or not. If you have communications problems with your twinning partner, contact me at and I will try to solve the issue.

I thank sincerely all of you for your commitment to the program. A special thank you to Nicole Schryburt, Administrative Assistant Twinning, for her excellent work, her support and ideas. I wish to thank the regional coordinators for their unreserved support to the program.
